Ideal for a new or visiting faculty members, professionals, or doctoral students, this recently renovated, architect-designed condominium is in an 1880's former schoolhouse in the fun and friendly Northside community. Two small groceries, a... recreation center with gym and yoga classes, a farmer's market, and many shops and restaurants are within easy walking distance. The unit features 17' high ceilings and huge south- and east-facing windows with stunning, picturesque views over Northside's slate turrets and spires to the trees and mansions of Mount Storm. There are hardwood floors throughout the main areas and heated, natural slate floors in the bathrooms. The kitchen is equipped with high-end Bosch appliances and a complete set of kitchenware. The decor is a mix of vintage and contemporary, with two full-size beds and a guest bed in a bonus loft space. Reached by a stairway, the generous, well-lit loft area can serve for work, exercise, or guests. The community in the building is diverse, international, and LGBTQ friendly. Neighbors include UC faculty members and professionals. Tenant will enjoy use of the building's common library, exercise room, lounge, and outdoor entertainment area with grill and benches. A dedicated parking spot is in the well-lit lot. Access is by key code for entry, with security cameras in building common spaces. Lease start and end dates are negotiable. Per condo rules the minimum lease is six months, however the terms for early departure are negotiable. Landlord is a UC faculty member who prefers e-mail for communications.
