We moved into this 1 bed/1 bath apartment right after it was renovated. We thought we were getting a good deal for the price and location. Everything was going to be new,; carpet, appliances, bathroom, the whole package. When we first moved in everything was great. Then slowly we started noticing more and more problems. Our apartment had been renovated very cheaply or the contractors were just plain lazy.
During move in a friend helping us moved noticed a phone jack at about chest height next... to the closet. When he inspected it the outlet cover fell off the wall revealing that there was nothing behind the cover other than a hole in the wall! The contractors had decided to just cover it up using the cover and some cheap finishing nails rather than actually do the job right .Finally, the storage space...When I was putting our junk in the storage space on move in day I noticed that the contractors didn't bother to use the proper length nails to put the walls up that separate each storage space. The result is the nails holding up the wall in your neighbor's unit come through to stick out in yours.
More things appeared; we were missing a light bulb over the sink in the bathroom, the walls clearly weren't sanded before paint, the bathroom door had obviously been taken from another frame, flipped around and had new hardware attached, the fridge was placed too close to the wall so that when the door is opened it rubs against the window sill.
Like the tenant in the earlier review, I can't say I'm a huge fan of Sundance. We've had issues with the company ever since it took over, mainly a computer error on their end that made it repeatedly appear that we were a month behind on rent and that we had not paid our security deposit.
You don't control your heat, we ran our A/C and had our windows open to try and keep from sweating to death all winter.
Parking spaces could be just a hair wider so you're not squeezing past the other tenant's cars when entering or exiting your vehicle.
Recently I've noticed cracks appearing in the ceiling in the bathroom, the tub poorly done, (accidentally dropping a shampoo bottle on the side took a chip out of the finish), and a piece of paneling fell off off the kitchen cabinet where the dishwasher is.
All in all, for the price you pay it really isn't a horrible place. Its a great bachelor/bachelorette pad.
However, it has proved to not be the place we want to continue to call home.

Let me be clear, this location was perfect for us. Great location, easy to get to highways, food, nightlife, all the goodies.
The Apartment is perfect for us, 900 square feet, 2 bedroom one bath, new carpeting, tons of room, great same or next day maintenance, washer/dryer hookup, extra basement storage, garage, and great neighbors. Our landlord was nice, understanding, and their office was easy to get to and centrally located.
And then they sold the building. The new company, Sundance is a... little less stellar. They're office is in almost 45 minute drive up near Mason. They sent us a letter telling us they
"wouldn't be renewing our lease for management reasons." They won't answer the phone at the main office, and the local manager won't answer her phone after 4:15 or so, despite having hours until 5. The same goes for her office itself, it's locked, there's no way to buzz in. Just a mess. They tell me they will be kicking out all the residents, some of which have been here for 15 years. If you wanted to renovate, fine. If you wanted to raise my rent, fine. But at least give me the option to work with you instead of never answering the phone and when I show up in person, tell me there is nothing you can do. I even asked about moving out for renovations and moving back in when they were done, no answers.
I love this apartment and my husband and I wanted to stay here until we bought a house (5 years or so) and now we don't even have that option. So upsetting. I hope the management will improve, but I don't have much hope.
